“Of course, Jesus is equal to God.”

Of course, you need your legs to get around.

Of course, you need hands to get things done.

Of course, you need your Ferrari to go to work.

Of course, you need your coffee, cigarettes and your cell phone to get through your day.

Of course, you must love your neighbour.

Of course, you need to trust.

Of course, you must believe in Jesus to go to heaven.

Jesus said, “Seek and you shall find”. I was 8 years old when I accepted Jesus into my life, but I haven’t found him yet, almost 40 years later. I am “seeking the truth”. I want to know, is Jesus, as they say, equal to God.

I know people who consider themselves born again Christians, that will say “Of course, Jesus is equal to God”, backing this up with mere faith. A person who has witnessed firsthand that Jesus is God, if indeed it is the case, I would consider them to be extremely blessed.

But, then again, Jesus also said “Blessed is he who believes without seeing”.

Doubting Thomas

The voices tell me, what do you need to be convinced...

Here is a response from my cousin and good Christian friend:

I know a man. When he was 8 years old he gave his life to Jesus Christ. He asked Jesus to reveal Himself and prove Himself as God. But Jesus never showed up.

When he got older and became wise to the world, the man continued to search for God and to ask God to reveal Himself. He kept looking for God but could not find Him. So the man started to experiment with alcohol and marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms, and even used a ouija board to consult with spirits, looking for God in all the wrong places.

The man did not find God, but he found schizophrenia and a world of spirits that actually communicated with him directly, in just the way that Jesus Christ never did. Since Jesus Christ never showed up but these spirits did, the man assumed that these spirits must be “God.”

Before long, the man had dropped out of school as schizophrenia and the spirits he thought were “God” took over his life, choking out his friendships and love interests and job opportunities and education opportunities until his entire life had become “smoked out” and the simple act of living life had become unmanageable.

Eventually the man’s life had become so unmanageable and dark that he was ready to swallow his pride and seek help and accept help. He knew he needed help, he knew he needed change, and even though “Jesus never showed up,” there was some tiny part in the back of his mind that remembered Jesus and the Bible teachings of his youth. Even though Jesus had never manifested Himself to “prove Himself” the way he had hoped for, the man was desperate enough to surrender himself to Jesus once again, and to submit himself to the Name of Christ.

So the man returned to his mother and her church, seeking help from those who pray to the Name of Jesus Christ. The man had finally come to realize that the spirits that were oppressing him were NOT “good” spirits, and in fact just the opposite (you shall know them by their fruits!), so the man actually requested an EXORCISM from the Christians.

His mother and her Christian friends refused to give him the exorcism that he requested. Instead, they simply prayed for him in the Name of Jesus Christ, while at the same time this man who had become so desperate submitted himself to psychiatric care, therapy, and medication.

A few years later, the man’s life had done a complete 180.

He received good psychiatrists, effective medicines, and good counseling. He went back to school and got his certifications, got himself a solid job, and now he has a career with colleagues and bosses who treat him with respect.

He has made friends and built back up some solid relationships. He is invited to dinner parties and hosts his friends over for BBQ.

He entered back into a healthy dating life, found himself a girlfriend, fell in love, and got married to a wife!

They even bought a house together! He went from barely surviving in government assisted housing, to buying his own HOUSE!! He is now a proud homeowner.

Now when I talk to this man, he tells me: “Jesus Christ has never revealed Himself to me! He has never revealed Himself as God. What has Jesus ever done for me?”
